With more than 8 million people occupying the capital city, it has become the most developed area in the country. You can arrive in the city through Suvarnabhumi Airport in Thailand. The city offers beautiful sight-seeing places, multiple attractions and crazy nightlife to tourists from all around the World.

Unlike most tourist places, Bangkok also enables tourists to experience their culture through various temples, Royal palaces and artifacts, and historical museums. Travel Tip

1. Baiyoke Sky Tower

Baiyoke Sky Tower is the tallest hotel in Southeast Asia. The 360-degree revolving Observation Deck on the 84th floor provides a spectacular night view of the city. On the 83rd floor is an elite rooftop bar that provides a hell of an experience.

2.  Pratunam Night Market

Just outside the Baiyoke Sky Tower is Pratunam Night Market which is open daily from 19:00 to 03:00. In the market, one can find uncountable clothing, watches, accessories, footwear, handbags, belts, electronic gadgets, and counterfeit designer brand clothes. The street food in the market is delicious and worth the try.

3. Chatuchak Weekend Market

If you’re visiting on a weekend then you can visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market which is open from 9 am to 6 pm. You’ll find even more variety of objects like herbs, spices, souvenirs, etc than the above market. The food here is even better and the desserts are heaven. Do try the coconut ice-cream.

TIP – Be aware of pickpocketers and try to bargain as they do reduce the prices by multiple folds.

4. Visiting Temples and Soaking in the Rich Thai Culture

Bangkok has a lot to offer in terms of temples. I would recommend these three temples: Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun. All three temples open by 8:30 A.M. and are accessible to the public till 4:30 P.M. and have a strict code – no short pants and no sleeveless shirts. Wat Phra Kaew also is known as Temple of the Emerald Buddha and the entry fee is 500 Baht while Wat Pho also is known as The Temple of the Reclining Buddha has an entry fee of 100 Baht and a 15-meter-high, 43-meter-long Golden Buddha. Wat Arun or The Temple of the Dawn has stairs to reach the balcony on the main tower which are quite steep, but the view from up there is really worth it. Despite its name, the Temple of Dawn looks amazing at sunset.

5. Exploring the Crazy and Exciting Nightlife

Sukhumvit and Silom are one of the best areas in the city to explore the nightlife. You can either sip at a rooftop bar and reminisce or you can opt for a bar crawl. Go-Go Bars, Iron Fairies Bar, Nana Plaza, Patpong, Tapas Room, Route 66, and Onyx are a must-try!

6. Dream World

Dream World is the ultimate entertainment providing theme park if you love rides! The thrilling rides include Corkscrew, Bumping Cars, Swinging Viking Boat, Hurricane, Tornado, and Rollercoaster. Besides rides, it also features a Hollywood Action Show and the Colors of the World Parade. One can experience winters with Snow Town which is a regulated sub-zero temperature zone inside the theme park.

 TIP – Carry only essential items so that you don’t have to store it before every ride. Lunch passes are available at the park. Do carry disposable raincoats if you don’t want to get wet!

7. Endless Shopping in Siam Paragon & Platinum

Siam Paragon is one of the most popular shopping malls in Bangkok which houses a host of international high-end fashion brands, Southeast Asia’s largest aquarium, a 16-screen Cineplex, and a comprehensive selection of world cuisine. This mall provides mainly luxury items for international visitors with cash to splurge. If you’re looking for something extra-special then Siam Paragon is definitely the place to find it.

Platinum Fashion Mall in Bangkok is like an indoor version of the Chatuchak Weekend Market. It specializes in wholesale fashion clothing and accessories, with 4 floors of shopping space, packed with some 1,300 shops. It’s air-conditioned with a large food court as well as cafés and fast-food chains. 

8. Art In Paradise

Art in Paradise Bangkok at Esplanade Shopping Mall offers fun photo ops through surrealistic 3D paintings. Also called the Trickeye Museum or 3D Museum Bangkok. It is really mesmerizing and takes away at least three to four hours of the day!

9. Siam Niramit Show

Siam Niramit is a spectacular show in Bangkok that brilliantly captures Thailand’s 7 centuries in a 90-minute production. The actors and the whole musical feels like magic and gives literal chills whilst conveying the rich culture of Thailand.

10. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

The Damnoen Saduak floating market in Bangkok is amongst the city’s core attractions. The experience of buying snacks, fruits, etc from a passing boat is unique! It opens at 7 A.M. and closes at 5 P.M. It’s huge, lively, full of boats selling food and fruits and it’s colorful.

11. Asiatique

Asiatique Waterfront is a large open-air mall and is a great place for clicking pictures, seamless shopping, and delicious Thai street food. This is one of the most organized night markets which starts at 5 P.M. and one can shop almost everything in this market. It also consists of a Ferris wheel and a haunted house! The iconic warehouse styled shops are a must-see. It also has some nightclubs, pubs, and restaurants.

12. Relax With A Thai Massage

Head over to one of the small studios located in popular tourist areas like Sukhumvit, Silom, and Khaosan Road and get yourself a relaxing, stress-free full body oil massage. Most shops will have a posted menu out front where you can look at the services offered as well as the price.
