1. About these terms

These terms apply to trift.io and any Trift page that links to them. “Trift”, “we”, and “us” mean the publisher of this site. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the site.

2. Our content

Everything we publish, including text, photographs, graphics, maps, video, and the Trift name and logo, is owned by Trift or by the writers and photographers who licensed it to us, and is protected by copyright and trademark law.

You may:

• read, link to, and share links to any page;
• quote short extracts for commentary, reviews, or education, with a credit and a link back to the original page.

You may not, without our written permission:

• republish whole articles, photo essays, or substantial parts of them anywhere else;
• use our content, including scraped copies, to train machine-learning models or to build a competing publication;
• remove bylines, credits, or copyright notices;
• use the Trift name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.

3. Travel information

Our guides and stories are personal accounts and editorial recommendations, written at a point in time. Prices, opening hours, visa rules, entry requirements, safety conditions, and the places themselves change. We do our best to keep guides current, but you are responsible for checking the facts that matter to your trip with official sources before you travel. Nothing on Trift is professional advice. Activities we describe, including hiking, diving, climbing, driving, and adventure sports, carry inherent risk. Assess your own fitness and the conditions on the day, and use qualified local operators.

4. Links to other sites

We link to hotels, tour operators, maps, booking sites, and official pages because we found them useful. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, pricing, or data practices. A link is not an endorsement unless we say so.

5. Sending us content

If you pitch a story or send us photographs through Write for Us, the contact form, or email:

• you keep the copyright in what you send;
• you confirm it is your own work, or that you have the right to share it, and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights;
• you give us permission to read it, discuss it internally, and get back to you about it;
• if we commission or accept a piece, publication rights and payment are agreed with you separately in writing before we publish.

We cannot guarantee a reply to every unsolicited pitch, and we may already be working on a similar idea.

6. Using the site

You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site other than through our public sitemap for search indexing;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or the systems behind it;
• use our forms to send spam, abuse, or malware.

7. Disclaimer and liability

The site is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, express or implied, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content, including losses connected to travel plans, bookings, or activities undertaken on the strength of something you read here. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts there, unless the law where you live gives you protection that cannot be overridden.
