Appenzell

A perfect way to hike to the top in peace and beauty, you don’t want to miss the dreamlike sunset and get those perfect shots! One of the perks of the place is that you will be in solace and no crowd. From the viewpoint, you will be amazed to see three countries of Germany, Liechtenstein, and Austria. You can enjoy the peace by the lakeside which is located nearby to the local Lodge.

How to get there: From Zurich, it is an hour-long drive to Appenzell from where you can take a gondola from Ebenalp which costs 31$ roundtrip and you will have to hike the rest of the way to the peak where you will find a Lodge as accommodation which costs 45$ per night, along with the best view.

Tip for you! : If you’re staying in the lodge, make sure to make it back by 7 pm. You can also visit the most beautiful restaurant in the world situated by the freaky caves if you got enough time.

Lauterbrunnen

Huge rocks welcoming waterfalls to hit them is a literal scenic description of the Stabbauch falls, Europe’s highest free-falling waterfall. Jungfraujoch

Located literally at the top of Europe, this mountain peak serves the most breathtaking views. Wengen

A town located right above Lauterbrunnen is famous for its timber chalets and belle époque hotels. Here, you will get a great view of the valley of Lauterbrunnen. This you will not be able to get from the town itself. This place is highly recommended as it is a basic rest spot for your hectic hike and trip to the town. You can just halt and enjoy the calmness for a while and get some pretty amazing shots around the valley.

How to get there: The only way you can get there is to take a train from Lauterbrunnen. Otherwise, you can walk/ hike, as there are no cars around the place. The trip tickets cost merely 7$ – 10$.

Grindelwald

The next stop is the infamous town, not only because of J.K. Rowling but for its splendid view of the mount Eiger. You can hike in summers and ski in winter, it is also a base for mountains-climbing. Mount Eiger is known to be pretty gigantic and huge for a mountain to be viewed as. You will also find some lakes alongside the mountains as you hike up.

How to get there: From the town Wengen, you can either drive to Grindelwald or hike. But we recommend taking a drive as all the way to another valley would be hectic.

Lake Oeschinensee

Located by the city of Kandersteg, the lake is in heartwarming turquoise colour with hiking trails and ice fishing. Once you reach the lake, all you would want is to take a dip in. We bet you wouldn’t be able to resist this once in a lifetime experience. The mountains surrounding it are so huge and serve as a perfect massive backdrop that will blow your mind. Swim around the lake and get away from all the tiredness of the hike!

How to get there: A five-mile roundtrip hike from Grindelwald, a moderate one but with sleep slopes. Definitely take the trails and walk up to the lake along with it.

Les Diablerets

On the west side of Switzerland, the town is full of waterfalls and endless meadows which will take your breath away. It is a perfect definition of beauty when you hike up to the rocks and enjoy the perfect weather and view. The surrounding mountains have the highest peak in western Switzerland.

How to get there: A two-hour car ride from Geneva, or a three-hour car ride from Zurich, after which you will hike up the beautiful way to the town.

Geneva

The beautiful city of Geneva is famous for not only for its beauty but for having the United Nations. There is always a lot of action going on and it has The Jet d’Eau, which is a 140 meters high jet/fountain. The city is surrounded by Lake Geneva, which allows locals and tourists to take a swim in the blue water and literally jump off the bridge to have fun around!

The city is the birthplace of watchmaking since the 16th century. You can stop by the old town with the medieval atmosphere and also visit the museums and other historic must-visits like St. Peter’s Cathedral, or Patek Philippe Museum.

Valle Versazca

One of the aptest cliff jump spots, located on the south side of Switzerland and near the town of Locarno which is at the border of Italy, Valle Versazca is one of the most highly recommended places for you to visit. The village is called Lavertezzo with the spot famous for having one of the most beautiful rivers and the bluest of the waters anywhere to be found! There is basically a bridge from where you can jump straight to the cold clear water of the river and enjoy the rejuvenation.  If you’re in southern Switzerland, you have to take a drive up there and you will not regret it.

How to get there: You can drive through the canyon from Locarno, for 30 minutes straight. Or, take a train to Tenero and then a bus to Lavertezzo.

Zermatt

The place is famous for the iconic pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak. You can take a bunch of gondolas to Matterhorn or other surrounding locations or you can find a walking path with a beautiful view of the peak of which you can take beautiful shots and clicks. There is a McDonald’s in the area so that you can snack on the basics. Getting the view of the peak and from the peak is a must-see at least once your life.

How to get there: You can’t drive straight to the city as there are no cars nearby, so you will have to take a train directly from the Zurich-Kloten or 4-hour train ride from Geneva-Cointrin. The gondolas to the Matterhorn peak cost 60$-100$.
