Welcome to Nafplio, Greece 
Nafplio is a perfect blend of medieval times with grrek and turkish buildings and modern science. This port town is a two hour drive from the city of Athens. This town not only offers a sophisticated way to learn the history of but also an abundance of beaches and secluded coves. 

Places to Visit

  • The Fortress of Palmidi

    The fortress of Palmidi or the Palmidi castle is one of the greatest achievements of Venetian architecture. Once in the fort one can see, among other things, the imposing bastions, the historic chapel of Agios Andreas and the impressive water tanks

  • Syntagma Square 

    Easily accessible, Syntagma Square sits in the heart of Nafplio and is a great spot to gaze around the slow bustling views of the city. Take a cup of coffee and look around the neoclassical structures and the polished marble floors reflecting the streetlights.

  • Bourtzi Castle 

    Located in the middle of the harbour is the water castle of Bourtzi which means ‘the tower’ in Turkish. The castle served as the home to the executioners in the 15th century and is now visited by tourists all around the year.
