Built in the 18th century, the church of Suchitoto also known as Iglesia Santa Lucia, is a colonial architecture masterpiece set against a natural backdrop of green mountains. The church forms the primary attraction site at the arrival to this country.

Lake Suchitlan
Lake Suchitlan is an artificial lake formed in the mid 1970s as a result of construction of the Cerron Grande Hydroelectric Dam. One can easily take a boat ride to one of the islands lined with houses nesting birds who fly about during the day.
