Places to Visit
-
Red Sea
The Red Sea, one of the most saline bodies of water in the world, is an inlet of the Indian Ocean between Africa and Asia. Its name is derived from the colour changes observed in its waters that are usually blue but turns to hues of red when a certain form of algae dies in its body.
-
The Aqaba Fortress
Aqaba Fort is a monumental gateway which was used as a khan (Travellers’ Inn) for pilgrims on their way to Mecca.
-
Aqaba’s Coral Reefs
Aqaba’s Coral reefs are just like any other coral reefs but what makes them unique is their power of resilience. The species show a unique resilience to climate change threats like rising ocean temperatures and acidification.
